Hello.
I'm Dennis and
my key hates me.
I build software and infrastructure.
Sometimes overengineered, but at least scalable.
Who am I?
When I wrote my first "Hello World" program in C at the age of 8, I tumbled head first into the rabbit hole of software development. With time I got internet access and with it access to more resources. Pretty soon I developed a strong focus on backend development with Perl, PHP and Python. In the following years I did my first paid projects and quickly realized that customers need more than just a backend. Infrastructure, appealing visuals and stuff like that.
Fast forward to today, I did my apprenticeship at a domain registrar where I spent too much time with the operations team. They took the opportunity to teach me as much as they could about system administration, automation and infrastructure. Working in and with web design agencies, I learned the "advanced fundamentals" of UI/UX design and front-end development. Through eCommerce projects and client requirements, I then inevitably dove into the world of data analytics as well.
Today, my main focus is to build products with a reliable infrastructure, effective CI/CD Pipelines and the backend and frontend stack perfectly suited for it. You could say I'm a full stack developer, but really I'm just a backend developer with a leaning towards everything else server-side. I only do frontend when there is no one else who can do it.
Oh, and I use Arch btw.
